AFTERCARE

Q1. How should I care for my tattoo in the first few days?

In the first few days, keep your tattoo clean and dry. Gently wash it with mild soap and water, pat it dry with a clean towel, and apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare ointment sold at the studio.

Q2. When can I remove the cling film or second skin?

You should typically keep the clingfilm on for up to 2hours after your tattoo is done. After this time, carefully remove it and follow the aftercare instructions provided by your artist.Second skin is advised to be kept on for 3-5 days.

Q3. Can I swim or soak in water after getting a tattoo?

It's best to avoid swimming, soaking in baths, or using hot tubs for at least 2-3 weeks. This helps prevent irritation and infection while your tattoo is healing.

Q4. How often should I apply aftercare ointment?

You should apply aftercare ointment 2-3 times a day, or as advised by your artist, for the first week. After that, you can switch to a fragrance-free moisturiser as your tattoo continues to heal or continue with the advised products.

Q5. Is it normal for my tattoo to itch?

Yes, some itching is normal as your tattoo heals. However, avoid scratching or picking at the tattoo, as this can damage the skin and affect the design.

Q6. What should I do if I notice redness or swelling?

Mild redness and swelling during/after the appointment are normal in the initial healing stages. However, if you notice excessive redness, swelling, or pus, contact your artist or a healthcare professional for advice.

Q7. How long does the healing process typically take?

Most tattoos take about 2-3 weeks to heal on the surface,. It’s important to continue caring for your tattoo even after it looks healed.

Q8. Can I expose my tattoo to sunlight?

During the healing process, it's best to keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight. Once it's healed, apply sunscreen to protect it from UV rays and prevent fading. High factor tattoo creams are sold at the studio.

Q9. What should I do if my tattoo is peeling?

Peeling is a normal part of the healing process. Allow it to happen naturally; do not pick at the skin. Continue following your aftercare routine to keep the tattoo moisturised.

10. When can I get my tattoo touched up, if needed?

It's best to wait at least 4-8 weeks after your tattoo has fully healed before considering a touch-up. This allows your artist to assess the tattoo's appearance and make any necessary adjustments. Touch-ups are charged or are done for free within your next appointments.
